Praise God! On Friday and Saturday David was able to buy a few basics to get everyone back on their feet. Here are some photos of the amazing work they have been doing to bring their new home up to code.

These photos remind me of the intense joy that comes from receiving any physical comforts at all, when all of our possessions have been suddenly lost. When Rebecca and I had so little after our fire, receiving the gift of sheets and a mattress left us feeling so grateful and so loved. These kids will have shoes and notebooks for school on monday. That brings me such joy. Seeing their faces staggers me with the recognition of all the times I’ve ignored the wondrous blessing of the home I live in right now.
